Cathy Adams will give away three signed copies of each of her books during this webinar: The Self-Aware Parent: 19 Lessons for Growing with Your Children and The Self-Aware Parent Two. Don’t forget to like these Facebook pages.

It only makes sense that parents who take care of themselves – in other words practice self-care of their mental, emotional and physical well-being – are likely to be more effective at raising their children. It is an established fact that the stress and energy drain of parenting makes self-care an imperative. Parents need to know how to recognize their stressors, stop the energy drain and recharge their batteries.

Grief Around the Holidays Free Expressive Arts Workshop Saturday 10/29 10am-4pm People House

Day of the Dead (Spanish: Da de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday which focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. Day of the Dead and the Celebration of Life is a time of reflection about the meaning of life and the mission that one needs to fulfill. Death in many situations imparts a feeling of pain and loss. For others, death is transcendence, transformation and resurrection.
Loss is an inevitable part of life, and grief is a natural part of the healing process. Loss causes a lot of pain and scars us very deeply. Holidays remind us of the special times with our loved one, happier times and special memories. They also bring on difficult emotions and awareness to the foreground of our minds. We all have different ways of coping with loss, but so many of us leave the wounds without treatment. Proper self-care is extremely important when going through loss. Dealing with it will allow you to free yourself from pain and help you rediscover life and peace again.

This workshop is designed to help participants grieve and honor their loved ones. Through Expressive arts and SoulCollage(R), participants are invited to tap into their intuition and creativity, while discovering coping skills for grieving around the holidays.

Participants are encouraged to bring a picture representing their loss.
This is a FREE Heart of Service Workshop and basic supplies will be provided.
Please contact me ASAP to sign up as there are only a few spaces left.

MONDAY, Oct 24, Dream Exploration Group Starts, 7:30pm @ Edie Stone's office

    Dear Dreamers,

The Dream Exploration Group will start MONDAY, October 24. The time will be 7:30 to 9:30 pm.

The group will meet every OTHER Monday: Oct. 24, Nov. 7, Nov. 21, and Dec. 5.

I invite you to join us in this creative and healing form of deep play and soul work.

We still have room for 2 or 3 more dreamers. Please reply and let me know if you want to join.

You can call my voice mail, 303-415-3755, to register on Monday.

To keep the bookkeeping simple, I will also extend the early registration discount to all new members, so the tuition will be only $120 for four sessions. Cash, check, or Credit Card (Visa, MC, or Discover).

This is a great price compared to individual sessions. Plus it is really exciting to explore dreams together, as sometimes magic and synchronous events happen. For example, in the last class, one person chose to work with a strong image from a dream, and another group member remembered the same image in a dream the previous night. They hadn't even met yet! ... that's the magic and mystery of dreams ...

Some of the techniques we will use in this dream class came from a training, Psychology in the Truest Sense of the Word: Dreamwork and Curanderismo, taught by renowned author and Jungian therapist, Clarissa Pinkola Estes.

I don't interpret or analyze your dreams for you, because the meaning of each dream is unique to the dreamer and his or her situation, history, and culture. Stock "dream interpretations" from books or websites are rarely accurate. Rather, I help you deepen your contact with the dream images, expand your experience and expression of the contents of the dream, and find the meaning that resonates with you. After having explored the meaning of a dream through this type of personal dreamwork, then you may want to look at other dream interpretations from classmates or books, to see if there is anything you have overlooked, or that enriches your experience.

Location: Edie Stone's office, 2027 Broadway, Suite H, Boulder, 80302

I look forward to hearing back from you!

Group for Teen-Young Adult Males (15-22) Getting and/or Staying Sober

    Hi Friends & Colleagues,

I am offering an education/support group for young/adult males (15-22) who are or have motivation to significantly cut down OR be clean and sober. My approach is harm reduction to support the clients choice rather then insist upon sobriety. This group will start Friday, October 28th and will run for 6 consecutive weeks. If there is enough interest, ideally Ill have a 4-6pm group for ages 15-18, and another from 6:30-8:30pm for ages18-22. The cost is $400 and is limited to 8 participants in each group.

Specific topics for discussion will include self assessment and goals; personal challenges to sobriety and strategies to overcome them; the addictive cycle explained and explored; the effect drugs & alcohols has on the developing brain; self esteem, values, stress, triggers and how to manage them. Participants will be given tools and guidance, and if they choose feedback to create a clear individualized plan for future sobriety.

I appreciate your referrals and consideration supporting young males staying clean & sober, specifically while their brains are still developing. Feel free to forward this to anyone who may have interest.

Please contact me if you have any questions at all!

    Thanks,
    Jeff
